Sometimes it is just fun to get dressed up and all glam. And thanks to the awesome Alexa and Gaby we have the opportunity to do just that. Welcome to The YA Prom.

I had a blast going “dress” shopping and picking out my accessories and my hair style. I wasn’t really sure what I wanted when I started looking. But then I came across this black number that has a fun vintage feel to it like old Hollywood glamor and I was sold. I decided to pair it with simple black heels, a Whiting and Davis mesh clutch (I have been lusting for these bags for years!!!) and since I can’t normally wear a red lip I went for it in my pretend world. It all comes together nicely with a messy up-do that I’m insane about.

Now on to the date. I was going to shock everyone and bring someone else. I really thought that I could do it. But who am I kidding?? I could go to the YA Prom with no one other than my little British American in Paris, Etienne St. Clair. I imagine that he would wear a top hat and tails in a very Titanic kind of way and because he is way cool enough to pull that kind of look off. And he totally picked out a gorgeous corsage for my wrist because he has good taste.

Update:
And since a bunch of the other Prom guest have posted pictures of themselves at their proms, here is little me my junior year of high school. This dress was $15 bucks and then I spent about $30 on the wonder bra I needed. :-) Love my awesome gloves though. HA. FYI, I wore the same color dress (long this time) and the same kind of gloves to my senior prom. Oh the 90s, how awesome you were. :-D
